Unboxing tea? That sounds kinda crazy! Well, probably so, except mayhaps when it comes to gift sets or bundles that made up of various different parts 🙂 And that’s we have here, a text and pictures unboxing of the Accelerated Intelligence Distribution Matcha Gift Set.
I’ve only drunk other people’s matchas before. But as far as I can recall, I never made matcha! So when I saw this Matcha Gift set as a lightning deal at Amazon, impulse buy won, and here it is!
- green book-style box with black interior padding
- Matcha Bowl
- Battery-Powered Whisk (batteries not included)
- wooden spoon
- 1 oz of Matcha
- card with instructions on how to get a 25% off coupon
THE GIFT PACKAGE
The whole very green package comes shrink-wrapped. The outer green box is hardcover book size, 9.5 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 3 inches tall approximately. The material is strong enough as packaging, but doesn’t feel like something that is designed for repeated opening and closing like a book.
After you remove the shrink wrap, don’t tear into the green cardboardy box ravenously! There is a simple non-destructive way to open it. Like the edge like a book, there is a magnetic connection there!
Here’s a couple of things from the box, the Amazon product tag, and a close-up of the logo on the front of the green box:
OPENING THE BOX
After opening the green package, on the left side, there is some reading material, including recipes.
On the right hand side, you have the three matcha tools, in the custom-padded black padding…
In between the two is the 1 ounce of bag of matcha tea. Per the print on it, it is USDA Organic of Chinese origin…
The instructions on the included matcha tea [not the equipment] say use 1/2 teaspoon of matcha in 8 ounces of hot water…
The bowl has roughly a 4 inch diameter and it is about 2 inches tall. Volume measurement coming soon!
The wooden spoon is just under five inches. This is a conventional spoon, not the dedicated matcha implement you find in traditional matcha sets.
What makes this a beginner’s set more than anything is that it includes a battery-powered whisk instead of the classic matcha whisk. Which is probably why they included a conventional spoon as well. To make it easier for beginners.
The whisk is roughly eight inches tall…
It has a simple ON/OFF thumb-button with ergonomic grooves…
The batteries are installed at the bottom, with a simple way to open/close it…
HOW DO THEY WORK? HOW DOES THE TEA TASTE?
This is only an “Unboxing” post! More details on the individual tea equipment and the included tea itself are coming in separate posts. I will add the links here as they get posted!
